A visit to Otaru (May 14 Tue. afternoon)

Excursion Plan: The city is about 50 minutes from Jozankei by bus.

The tentative plan is:

Bus from Jozankei to Otaru after the meeting
14:30 Otaru canal cruise; group 1 (35 persons)

             Visit the museums; group 2

15:00 Otaru canal cruise; group 2 (42 persons)

             Visit the museums; group 1

 

Additional cruise if the number of participants exceeds the capacity.

16:10 A visit to the Herring Fishery Lodge
Free time

  • Visit the historical buildings
  • If you want, you can visit the neighbor town Yoichi known for the distillery.
Dinner on your own.  Enjoy the cuisine from Northern Japan!
20:00 Depart Otaru for Jozankei

 

Otaru canal cruise  (URL), a 40-minute cruise at the historical canal.

We have reserved two boats at 14:30 and 15:00.  Each trip can take around 40 persons.
